Except aforementioned benefit in the game use, French studio DotEmu did cosmetic changes to the visual side of this outstanding, turn-based strategy. However, potential customer should not expect too much from the visual changes. The only thing that changed is the quality of textures and game supports widescreen resolution. So, at first glance it’s hard to find any difference between the basic version and the new one if we were talk about visuals only.
What new things appeared in this game?
The problem is that that’s all when it comes to big changes. Exactly. There’s no point in looking for new campaigns or subjects. There are no new spells, new characters, buildings, fractions or whatever you, die-hard fan would expect from hyped refreshed version of the best part of the Heroes. The price was a surprise for many as well. It was approximately $12 in the day of release. These types of reissued games can often be a very controversial, but in this case the opinion of the players is unanimous. Buying Heroes of Might & Magic III: HD Edition Download is pointless. Downloadable Cossacks 3 is a great strategy game.

The sense of buying the discussed game might be only for younger players who haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful world of fantasy presented in Heroes so far. Production is definitely timeless due to high playability and a good plot. Multiplayer raises also a great joy, where you can play a game together with your friends. The rivalry becomes really intense, and tactics or strategy we choose during game open a lot of choices for us. It is certainly a cult game that takes first place of the whole series for many players despite the fact of passing years. Even the graphics can please the eye and it doesn’t disrupt your gameplay. In the Internet it is possible to find a lot of mods and improvements and it’s possible thanks to fans who were involved in developing the game. If you didn’t have a chance to play the third edition of Heroes, new release can be a good excuse for you to immerse yourself into the fantasy world presented in the game.

It’s hard to give a positive rate to Heroes III: HD Edition because the work put into refreshing the game is embarrassing. Fans of Ubisoft products are rightly disappointed. Might as well the 15th anniversary could have ended as a party held for creators only. Players would benefit from it as much as they benefit from the release of Heroes of Might & Magic III: HD Edition. This time Ubisoft strongly disappointed fans of the series.
